A plain-English version of how Stash handles your data. Last updated May 13, 2026.

What Stash is

Stash is a personal organization and memory tool. You choose which links to save; Stash helps you organize and rediscover them. Stash is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party platform or creator. Stash does not knowingly download, rehost, or republish full third-party videos, audio, or images as a public content library, does not bulk scrape platforms, and does not bypass platform restrictions. Where appropriate, Stash links out so you can open content in its original source.

What we collect & store

  • Account information: email and display name.
  • Saved URLs: the links you choose to save.
  • User-created stashes & categories: the collections you build.
  • Notes, tags, and organization: anything you add to a save or stash.
  • Metadata, previews, captions & transcripts where available: title, author, caption, thumbnail URL, and similar lightweight context fetched from publicly available Open Graph / oEmbed endpoints, plus public captions or transcripts where the source exposes them.
  • AI-generated summaries & context where available: short summaries, key insights, topics, tags, and on-screen text extracted from previews to help you rediscover saves.
  • Uploaded media if you use those features: screenshots and voice notes you choose to attach.
  • Technical logs and cookies/consent data: minimal request and error logs needed to keep the product running, plus session and consent cookies.

Coverage of metadata, previews, and AI context varies by source — Stash does not promise to capture everything from every platform.

Uploaded media

Screenshots and voice notes are stored in private cloud storage buckets. They are never publicly accessible by URL. When the app needs to display them, it generates short-lived signed URLs that expire automatically.

AI summaries & categorization

Stash uses AI to generate summaries, key takeaways, topics, and categories where available. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date — please verify anything important. Your private content is not used to train third-party models.

Public previews

For links you save, Stash fetches publicly available previews (titles, captions, thumbnail URLs) from the source. Stash stores references and lightweight metadata, not source video or audio files.

Collaborators & shared stashes

Stashes are private by default. You can invite collaborators by email or revocable invite link, or make a stash public. When you revoke a collaborator or rotate an invite link, access is removed immediately. Public stashes are accessible to anyone with the link.

Cookies & analytics

Stash uses essential cookies for sign-in sessions and stores your cookie-consent choice. Stash does not run cross-site advertising trackers. Lightweight aggregated analytics may be used to understand product usage.

Third-party processors

Stash runs on Supabase (database, auth, storage), Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (transactional email), and AI gateways (Google, OpenAI) for summaries. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Age requirement

Stash is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your region, whichever is higher). If you are under that age, please don’t create an account.

Your rights & deletion

You can delete individual saves, uploads, and stashes at any time from the app. You can permanently delete your entire account from Account settings, or request deletion by emailing hello@stashsocialapp.com. Account deletion removes your owned Stash data (profile, saves, stashes, notes, tags) and associated storage objects (screenshots, voice notes) where technically possible. Deletion will not remove content from the original third-party source, because Stash does not control those sources.
